PERSONAL
Matt Williams is a devoted husband and father. Family tops his list of priorities. He believes strongly that success is not measured by what money can buy. But rather, success is achieved by having all of the things money cannot buy—things like integrity; caring relationships; the trust and respect of other people; peace of mind and the satisfaction from a job well done.
Aspiring to be the best is useless without the support of others. Matt is a firm believer in teamwork and always strives for solutions that are a win/win for everyone.
Staying on the cutting edge means devoting time to study. On-going professional training, personal and spiritual development are a major part of Matt’s life. He embraces the high-tech changes our culture has experienced and looks forward to the boundless possibilities in store for our future.
Tenacity is another of Matt’s attributes. He prefers action to excuses. Matt has fought through a number of tough times at a relatively young age. He is a cancer survivor having won his battle at age 21. Sometimes winning means refusing to quit, as reflected in Matt’s personal motto—FIDO (Forget it—Drive On!)
Enthusiasm is contagious. If you believe it, you can achieve it! Matt is a high-energy person with a passion for the many different aspects of his life. He believes that the people in his life, his family, friends and customers appreciate his commitment and energy. He also believes they deserve nothing less than his very best.
Real Estate is not Matt’s life—it’s what he does for a living. It allows Matt the opportunity to provide for his family, but more importantly, it allows him to help people in a very meaningful way, at a very important time in their lives. He appreciates deeply the confidence placed in him by his customers and is committed to being a good steward of that trust.

PROFESSIONAL
Background
Matt Williams entered real estate full-time in 1996, working for a company developing single-family subdivisions. His broad experience includes Land Acquisition, Planning & Zoning Approvals, Utility Negotiation and Installation, and New Home Construction. In addition, he has created, implemented and managed entire marketing and advertising campaigns for new developments. Matt’s background also includes experience in Mortgage Lending as a Loan Officer with Countrywide Home Loans, at the time, one of America’s largest mortgage lenders.
Matt started his career as a Realtor with the Century 21 system, quickly gaining the distinction of Top Producer, and later went on to hold numerous management positions. In December 2004, he took over as the Managing Broker of Schuler Bauer’s New Albany Office, the company’s largest. Matt’s day-to-day responsibilities included the management and professional development of the New Albany office’s 75 agents. In September 2006, he was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Today, Matt is still the Managing Broker at the New Albany office, but his responsibilities also include leading the team of managers from Schuler Bauer’s Corydon & Scottsburg offices, in addition to all Sales, Marketing, Training & Technology functions for the company.
 
Training
Matt is a skillful negotiator and invests considerable time and money in staying on the cutting edge of trends and changes in the real estate industry. Based on the principle of “You Get By Giving,” the Floyd Wickman Courses enjoy the reputation within the real estate industry of being the oldest and most effective of real estate training.   Matt Williams is a graduate of the Floyd Wickman Real Estate Training Course, “Sweathogs,” an extensive, nine-week course that teaches essential practices for offering superior real estate service.
Matt is also a graduate of the Floyd Wickman Master Sales Academy. Taught over four days in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Master Sales Academy draws the top 1/10 of 1% of all real estate agents in North America, widely known as the best of the best. Matt is designated as a Master Salesperson and is part of a network of top real estate professionals in North America.
In April 2004, he graduated from the Leader’s Choice Training Program through the Mark Leader Courses, an intensive nine-week program covering the most recent trends in advanced real estate marketing.
In March 2007, Matt earned the GRI designation as a graduate of the Indiana Association of Realtors Graduate Realtor Institute.
 
In 2005, Matt authored and began teaching an advanced real estate sales and marketing course, exclusively for Schuler Bauer agents, titled Sales Mastery. To date, sixty-one of his Schuler Bauer Colleagues have graduated from the Sales Mastery course.
In 2008, Matt reconnected with the Floyd Wickman organization, by graduating from their Academy of Speaking & Training. The intense, three-day “torture test” resulted in an offer to join the Floyd Wickman Team as a professional speaker and trainer, teaching the company’s successor to “Sweathogs,” titled the SMART Program. While enticing, the prospect of traveling four days per week was not a good fit with Matt’s priorities. Matt respectfully declined their offer.
An avid reader and audio-book listener, Matt devotes daily attention to studying material focused on sales, business management, personal and professional self-help, and success. His favorite authors include Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracey, Jack Canfield, Napoleon Hill, Ken Blanchard, Floyd Wickman and Joel Osteen.
